  1. I hate to have to say this, because I have checked this site almost daily for quite some time, but I’m done. Your album release date information is so randomly, terribly, repeatedly and easily provably wrong, it’s baffling.
    Good luck.

    • John:

I happen to think you are off-base here, relying on Wikipeida as your sole source of information on album release dates.

I have been building my several databases for nearly ten years. In that time, I have come to rely on AllMusic, Discogs, 45Cat, RateYourMusic, Last.fm, MusicBrainz, Billboard and other music sites, plus record label and artists’ official websites, fan blogs, Wikipedia and other sources. From experience I can tell you that Wikipedia alone is not always reliable. You need to have the patience to check multiple sources before accepting a particular input.

I stand behind my work and my databases. There are not 100% accurate, but then none of my other souces are, either. The closest to perfection is Discogs, but by nature of the site they only input what is known to be 100% accurate, so they do not always have the data I seek.

      Cheers, Dr. Rock
