    • Hello, Hans Kristian:

Actually, nothing’s wrong here. It all depends on your perspective, and which source(s) you use for release dates.

I consult at least five and often 8-9 sources for music album and track release dates, and employ a decent measure of intuition and deductive reasoning before I settle on a particular date.

In the case of LP Brain Drain by the Ramones, the results are mixed. But I list May 23 because three of my most reliable sources (Discogs, 45Cat and MusicBrainz) show either May 23 or May 1989 as the release date. The data on RateYourMusic, Last FM, Apple Music, Amazon and others is mixed.

Which date is the correct one? Good discussion. But I go with 5/23/1989 unless and until something more definitive comes along.

If you have that, I am all ears.

      Cheers,

      Dr. Rock
